Position(s) with entrepreneurial-spirited senior executives to grow and/or consolidate small-to-middle market companies. Open to all industries.

Operator/investor partners will have been successful entrepreneurs/senior executives with ten (10) years experience with Advanced Business, Accounting or Law degree, turnaround and/or aggressive dealmaker/rainmaker experience is a plus. A willingness to become equity partners in opportunities that have a 3-to-5 year investment prospect is beneficial. Financial Analyst/Controller

The successful candidate will participate in the development, costing analysis and reporting of sales programs, sales budgets and Forecasts.  Perform sales and expense reporting activities and variance analysis.  Reconcile sales with production and inventory.  Performs detailed margin and profitability analysis by products, channel and marketing segments.  Participates in the development of annual budget, forecasts and strategic plans. 

Duties & Responsibility will include evaluation of profitability of sales programs with Sales, Marketing and Finance personnel, develop and maintain spreadsheets to monitor sales program costs, sales and margin analysis, performs analysis of sales, costs and expenses and explains variance with budget, forecast and prior year, prepare sales, margins and expenses analysis and explain performance to management, performs profitability and cost analysis of new and existing products per items, channels and segments, prepares and enter the required sales, costing information and expenses information required for monthly closing as required by the closing schedule. 

Performs costing analysis and issue report on performance.  Reconcile actual results to forecast and budget.  Audits monthly and yearly inventory.  Performs and maintain monthly analysis of assets and liability accounts.  Performs competitive analysis of pricing and programs.  Prepare analysis and documents required for management approval of programs.  Identify and communicate opportunities for improvements identified in analysis.  Revise monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy.  Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the department director. 

Must possess a College degree in accounting or Finance or equivalent and professional designation.   Advanced degrees are a plus.  Must have five years in cost accounting, sales and margin analysis or equivalent  and demonstrate knowledge of general ledger, costing and bill of material systems, understanding of financial statements,  strong knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.  Excellent problem solving skills, good customer relations skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, excellent group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills with strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment are needed.   Strong computer skills, including the use of standard office software programs is required.  Send  a letter of interest and a brief CV or résumé describing your background and experience to careers@northstargp.com.

 Product Development Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of product development programs, including the responsibility for conformance to the applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications for this position include at least 4 years industrial experience in a medical equipment or related  industry, preferably leading an engineering development team.  Strong project management skills are a must, knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques and tools is required.  The candidate must possess experience in assessing and delivering to customer requirements, excellent problem solving skills, good customer relations skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills, excellent group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills and strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.   An excellent working knowledge and proficient computer skills, including the use of standard office software programs including spreadsheet, word-processing, and email applications. Demonstrable use and understanding of engineering tools such as version control and defect tracking systems is required.

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics, or comparable technical degree. A higher degree is a plus. Suitable work experience in a technically related field may be considered in lieu of formal education.
